Mineral Drift
Mineral Drift is a series of three works — Amber Terrain, Cracked Horizon, and Alchemy of Stone — built from wood, beeswax, resin, and pigment. The pieces trace what happens when material is subjected to pressure, heat, and time: surfaces that split, settle, and stratify like sediment or stone.
Sabi Fold works through accumulation rather than intention, allowing each layer to respond to the last. The results read less as made objects than as found ones — cross-sections of some slow geological event, caught mid-process.
Mineral Drift asks what it means to let a material finish its own sentence.
Material Silence
The Material Silence series is comprised of three works. The larger works measure 11" x 40". The smaller works without metal, measure 24" x 7-1/2" . The works with patina metal measure 24" x 10-1/4"
This series is an exploration of surface and transformation, where layered materials and organic forms reflect a process of emergence, erosion and a quiet presence. Each piece is paired using the traditional wood-burning technique, Shou Sugi Ban, which uses fire to preserve to transform and preserve the surface, revealing texture, depth, and a quiet elemental beauty.
